Councillor Chitty unveils Space Business Centre Medway
Councillor Mrs Jane Chitty, Medway Council's Portfolio Holder for Strategic Development & Economic Growth, officially unveiled the brand new ‘Space Business Centre Medway’ at its launch event held on 13 March 2009.
The event was well attended by key figures from North Kent’s business community including representatives from Medway Council, Business Link Kent, SEEDA and the Federation of Small Businesses.
The business units are aimed at start-ups, small businesses and those needing to downsize or find more economical business premises. Cllr Chitty said: ‘I was delighted to support this centre. It offers huge flexibility to those wishing to start and further their business. This investment is vitally important to our economy and to the ability to create jobs. I wish them every success for the future.’
Alex Gale, development manager at Space Business Centres said: ‘We are well aware that in this difficult economy it is quite exceptional to be launching a new business venture such as this, however, we have been greatly encouraged by the interest from Councillor Chitty, her colleagues at Medway Council and other Kent-based business support groups and are confident that Space Business Centre Medway will be a success.’
The brand new development at Knight Road, Strood, consists of 51 small business units ranging from 350 – 776 sq ft which will be let on easy-in, easy-out terms with a maximum of just one month’s commitment from the tenant.
To give potential tenants a head start in the current economic climate Space Business Centres is offering the first three months rent at half price. Units at Medway can be rented from as little as £67.50 per week, subject to availability.
